Little Italy
Little Italy is home to many professionals who enjoy the neighbourhood's vibrant nightlife and its proximity to the downtown core. Since the 1920s, Italians had populated the neighbourhood and established College Street as its main commercial strip. Today, Little Italy is considered one of Toronto's most multi-cultural neighbourhoods and College Street offers over 200 establishments featuring cafes, restaurants, nightclubs, markets, and clothing stores.
The houses of Little Italy range from row-houses and attached Victorian homes which were built between 1880 and 1910 to Edwardian-style detached and semi-detached houses built in the early 1900's. The signature street which borders Little Italy is Palmerston Boulevard. Featuring stone and iron gateposts, one on College Street and one on Bloor Street, this stunning boulevard boasts the largest homes in the neighbourhood. .
